Annotated Bibliography

In “Helping Your Teenager Leave Home” by Yvonne Jayne,M.ED, the author said parents should prepare their teenagers to be able to live on their own. One of the things that they should learn is how to do house chores. In addition, they should know how to do things outside home. For example, show him how to take the bus to go to his school. The author also says parents need to recognize that their teenager will face difficulties and needs someone to listen to him. Nevertheless, if you having any problems with your teenager about being irresponsible you should treat him harsh. Also, don't control or monitor your teenager, give him a space to deal with his own life. Don't deal with him like a baby, because it doesn't help you to let him be an adult.

In “Arguments on Teens Leaving Homefor College“ by Cathy Moeschet, the author said the first reason for teens to leave the house is teenager worry about choosing their major which may not be offer by a university at their hometown. Some teenagers might leave the house and skip family problems to attend a good school. The next reason is its is teenagers who aren’t qualified to get a financial aid they tend to go out and find a job that will help them to pay for the school tuition. The author also says teenagers aren’t ready to leave the house. They feel homesick when they know that they will be separated from their families. Finally, leaving house is a great opportunity to learn and become professional at life skills.
